What You Will Be Doing:

One of Georgia’s oldest and most successful private companies is recruiting its next generation of high-performance candidates to join the Sales and Leadership Training Program. We are looking for team members who are motivated to build their sales, operational, and leadership capabilities in preparation for future roles. This is a great opportunity to start in an entry level role that will build into a pathway for a long term, successful career.

The Sales and Leadership Training Program (SaLT) is a selective 12-week, rotation-based training program that offers the opportunity to explore each division within the company.

Trainees are assigned a job, or “Home Base Assignment” for the duration of their class. This position will supplement the scheduled training each week, and also offers the opportunity to begin working before the program actually begins. Additionally, the extra time allows people to acclimate to the job and company in their own time.

Trainees will go through sales and leadership learning throughout the program, both computer-based and in person. Each group will attend classes and discussions, networking events, as well as participate in hands-on training and shadowing. Each activity provides unique opportunities to become acquainted with various people and positions within the company. Trainees will learn the roles and responsibilities of each department through firsthand experience. Each week will focus on something different, and on Fridays the program supervisor will complete individual check ins. This gives everyone the chance to share their personal feedback on the program, ask questions, and go over the schedule for the upcoming week.

Upon completion of the program, trainees will be placed into their first independent role. The leadership team will review each trainee individually and placement will be based on the interests acquired, skill level shown, potential to grow, and the current business needs. The first role will act as a steppingstone towards the desired career path. Please be aware that certain career opportunities may only be present in select areas of the state.

The Sales and Leadership Training Program is a full-time, salary position that is offered twice a year with flexible start dates preceding each kick-off. Recruiting for this program is active year-round and you may apply at any time to be considered for an upcoming class.

SaLT Group 1: Trainees begin work in May, June, or July for program start in August

SaLT Group 2: Trainees begin work in November, December, or January for program start in February

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for candidates that have prior experience working/volunteering in sales, retail, management, or customer service type roles. Good communication skills, desire to learn and a willingness to listen will be essential for maintaining relationships with your customers and fellow coworkers. You should possess a sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to work both with a team and independently is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Demonstrated success in prior work/volunteer experience.
  • Ability to use judgment and creativity in applying solutions to business concerns.
  • High energy, drive and strong work ethic required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate sales, parts, and service solutions over telephone, in person, and through technology.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and individually.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Long-term interest in future sales and leadership opportunities with Yancey Bros. Co. is preferred.
